1963, the year I was born is FCAs official start of the drag pac or Light weight factory built race car. Honoring the legends of drag racing is something that I was born to do with our new muscle car customizing line. I love the new direction God has my life going with the new Innovator™ customizing program. Yesterday I had a meeting with one Dodge dealership owner for almost a couple of hours, a wonderful man, he just didn't understand. But by the grace of God, I got the call later that evening from another Dodge Dealer who understands and is really excited to come work with my wife and I, he's coming to join us in January 2021. This years Big Daddy turns 92. It's been an honor working with him all these years of hard lessons.
Unless you spent a couple decades around Big Daddy Don Garlits you really could never understand just how much hard work was done by the man most call legend, a man I call my friend. It's an honor to have worked with and for him on projects over the years. My work for Don is my most prized work even over my Indy Car, Nascar and Hollywood projects. In hindsight, when Big Daddy gave me the design project for SRXXXVI, I believe without question he knew he was giving me an iconic project. I never would have dreamed it would take my wife and I where we are now, etched in the history of muscle cars and my favorite sport, drag racing. Now, I am the first person in muscle car history to ever attain a $100,000 valuation from Hagerty from a rendering, before Innovator™ was even built. I'm the only person in muscle car history to do that.
I first saw Big Daddy in Swamp Rat VIII (above left) at Utica Rome Speedway in upstate New York ... of course it's my favorite Swamp Rat. Swamp Rat XXXVI (below with me in the Mopar booth), was a co-designed. It was Don's idea to put the flames on the car and he was the art director on the project. We did what Big Daddy wanted, period. Then when he has the flames pin stripped, it really made a beautiful improvement. So I did that on the Innovator™ prototype.
I knew Swamp Rat XXXVI was my chance to create a Picasso / a one of one to be etched in drag racing history at the Museum of Drag Racing. Off the record, we didn't like the sound of the V-10. The Hemi V-8s is the way. Big Daddy knew how sad I was because I lost the design for Swamp Rat XXXV, so he promised me the next one. Then I got the call and project - Design SRXXXVI. below with me in the Mopar booth.
Hearing a Garlits tuned Hemi is like listening to Sinatra ... it's magical if you know and feel what you're hearing - and you have stood at a parts washer countless hours in your life to rebuild mechanical like I have. Oh nothing like the hours Big has spent - but that's one of the reasons they call him legend. HARD WORK - it's the secret.

We created Innovator to customize a small number of collectable cars for the next generation that follows the design for the legendary 17 Time World Champion "Big Daddy" Don Garlits Drag Pak Challenger Swamp Rat XXXVI (design #1 above).
The Innovator™ was built in part to promote our United States Techs Association's national movement to help our trades force foundation and bring awareness to young parents on the important value of their children building with their hands and digital skills combined. Our build to order custom packages for the 2021 Challengers line will be a limited to 50 units with 50 special Youngblood editions. For 30 years I have worked with and worked for Big Daddy and his family and the betterment of The Garlits Museum Of Drag Racing as an inventor, digital designer, photographer and webmaster. He was my hero from 7 years old when I first saw him at Utica Rome Speedway. Now, my invention Adamstand™ has been used in the shop by Don with one of my original prototypes now on display at his museum for almost three decades. This video to the left is the finest I have ever seen online about Don. I'm proud to say you can actually see me at work, shooting some photos in front of one of the trailer wraps I designed at minute (9:30) in the web film above. Don and myself pictured visiting on the electric car's debut. He was so happy racing.
